“Shibari Pilgrim” is a unique Bondage Geisha project. We set out out to meet people from the Shibari lifestyle, exchange ideas and techniques and of course do a lot of Shibari.
These documentaries are next published here on Bondage Geisha.
We met Greek Aleta and her partner Matt in their beautiful medieval style home, lit the huge fire and unpacked our ropes for on unprepared, improvised session of ropes and bullwhips. What came out was amazing, beautiful and well worth filming.
So, the latest addition to Bondage Geisha is a new, great “Shibari Pilgrim” episode. A 55 minutes movie and a huge series of photos. It doesn’t get any better.

Shibari Art took a new turn this weekend as Bondage Geisha art director and Nawashi Hans Meyer and his partner Selena performed in the exclusive Harald Vlugt gallery and studio in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) for a crowd of fifty artist, art critics, museum directors and photographers. One performance was planned. An enthousiastic crowd asked for more and eventually got three different performances showing the many artistic and spiritual sides of Shibari.
It was a first time experiment: introducing Shibari to a western mainstream professional art audience. And it was a big success. The evening - that went on into the early hours of the morning - turend out to be an excellent example of what Bondage Geisha can do: bringing Shibari to a much higher artistic level, away from the porn image it does not deserve and into mainstream avant garde art.
Meyer approached this first ever art performance in accordance with the 17th century Kyoto tradition. In other words, bring artists from various artistic fields together, show them Shibari, try to inpire them and have them take their own turn at it, either painting, photographing, drawing or sculpting, based on what they have seen. And while the result of that of course will take some time to mature, if the first photography results are anything to go by, these results promise to be quite something.

Yayoi Terada
Shibari lifestyler Yayoi Terada is another one of the “big guns” in Shibari modeling. Her “oevre” is such a broad spectre that it is almost impossible to compile a complete overview or even something that is remotely representative for the total. So for her handpicked gallery - which is massive with close to 150 high quality pictures - she has made some choices.
The most intriguing part of the gallery is the overview of what dorei (Shibari lifestyle submissive) training is all about. This section of het gallery provides a nice and unique insight in the many aspects of dorei training.

Shizuko Iwasaki in black and white
Japanese bondage model Shizuko Iwasaki sent us some more pictures for her private picture gallery. This addition includes some very rare, highly artistic black and white shots. These especially form a true treasure.
Shizuko usually does artistic or experimental photo shoots. This makes her one of the more interesting and innovative Shibari models. She is best known for fusion between fetish (rubber especially) and forms of Japanese bondage and her gallery incorporates some beautiful bondage and nature shots.
Here at Bondage Geisha we love to show the many turns, Japanese bondage can take. Of course there is a lot of attention for the classic hemp rope bondages, but we certainly like to see other experiments as well and Shizuko’s private gallery certainly is an example of this.

Saori Tiara
Question: who is the most photographed Japanese bondage model? That question is hard to answer but Saori Tiara certainly is a candidate for such a title. Here at Bondage Geisha we are always interested in new visions on Shibari, since we know our members and visitors are. And of course we love to showcase bondage artists.
The Dragon is a London (UK) based phtographer with an interesting take on Shibari. Using only western models he creates a kind of “East meets West” atmosphere in highly artistic photography. Both in black and white and in color the somewhat fusion-type bondage rigging looks fascinating. This feature gallery is certeninly something worth looking at.

The gallery for Shiho Fujiwara (a.k.a. Enia) has been updated with new pictures.
Her handpicked personal gallery now holds 54 pictures with a series of nice, artitsic hemp rope work added to the gallery today. Shiho is a beautiful, classic Japanese woman and bondages are very becoming on her. The new addition shows she can do much more than the more or less plot-based photoshoots, she is best known for.
